At Marist, it is our goal to provide a top-quality
education for every student that seeks that experience here.
To
achieve this goal, Marist tuition remains one of the lowest in the
Pacific Northwest. Additionally, we provided over $600,000 in
tuition assistance to over 40% of our students this year with an
average of $3,100 per student!
How do we accomplish this?
-
First and foremost, we carefully manage our
costs. Some of these schools average over $13,000 annual cost
per student whereas Marist projects an average of only $11,425 per student.
-
Secondly, we must rely on the generous support of our community. Our
commitment to affordable tuition means that our tuition rate is
lower than the cost per student as follows:
| Annual cost to educate one student |
$11,425 |
| Tuition per student for 2010/2011 |
8,550 |
This is where community support
makes a difference:
The cost gap per student is $2,875. That equates to $1.3 million
for our
2010/2011 budget year! The G.A.P. program offers parents, family
members and others in our community the opportunity to help cover
the gap in tuition. This is so very important as it helps us:
-
Remain accessible to families of all economic
backgrounds.
-
Sustain the diversity of our academics and
activities.
-
Maintain small class sizes.
-
Pay a fair and adequate wage to attract and
retain top-quality teachers.
