How do I find a book in the Library? You should first
check the
online catalog. The catalog can be
accessed from any on- or off-campus computer with Internet access. You can
then do a search by title, author or subject as
well as see if the book is in or out. You'll want to get
the book's
call number so you can look for it in the stacks. If you
need further assistance, see Mr. Huck or the Parent
Volunteer on duty. You'll see white tags at the top of
the shelves with the call number topics (Dewey Decimal
System numbers):

How do I check a book out?
Take the book to Mr. Huck or the Parent Volunteer so
they can check it out for you.
How many days may I check a book
out? 14 days. At the end of that
time period, you must either return the book or renew it the same way you checked it out. Have the book with you to get
it renewed. Reference books, marked with a yellow
"Reference" tag, are for use in the Library
only and may not be checked out.
How many books can I check out at
one time? You may borrow 5 books at one time.
Where do I return books when I'm
done? There are two spots to return
books. One is an outside drop box marked "Book
Depository" at the Library
entrance facing the 300-wing. The second spot is a drop
slot in the right side the of the main desk at the
Library entrance facing the 300-wing.
What if a book is overdue?
Return the book directly to Mr. Huck. Please do not use
either of the drop slots. You will owe $.10 per day that
the book is overdue. All fines are put into the Library
fund to buy new books and materials. Your borrowing
privileges are suspended until all overdue fines are
paid.
What if I lost a book?
You will be charged the cost of a new replacement book +
any overdue fines you owe on the item. Or you may
purchase a new replacement book yourself in which case
overdue fines will be forgiven. Your borrowing
privileges are suspended until all lost items and
overdue fines are paid.
What do I do if I damaged a book?
Damage to an item includes, but is not limited to: water
damage, underlining or writing on or in the item, torn
